DO YOU WANT TO APPLY? GREAT!
Any person interested in studying art or design, who have fled to Germany and is/was in a asylum seeking process, can apply for *foundationClass. From October 17th 2022 on you will be part of the Art + Design Foundation department at weißensee school of art and design berlin. You will participate alongside students who have just started their study programme.
Please note this is a full time pre-study programme with content happening 9-5 p.m. every day from October 17th 2022 until 17th of February 2023. Please do not apply if this isn’t possible for you.
To become part of *foundationClass, you need to be able to speak and read either German or English at a conversational level. A German course for beginners will be provided as part of *fC. You also need to be officially registered as an asylum seeker to enter the programme (it does not matter whether your asylum procedure is still ongoing or has already been completed).
Please send us a text (500 words) about yourself or a video message (+/- 3 minutes) about yourself. Think about these questions:
○ Who are you and what’s going on in your life?
○ What is your connection to art or design?
○ How does your own art practice (or more?) look like?
○ What field of art or design do you want to start or continue studying and why?
Additionally, we ask you to include a selection of no more than 10 art works/projects
you are/have been working on.
Please send everything in one PDF file (max. 10 MB) to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 9th.
On October 10th you will receive an assignment from us via email, which you will work on and send back to us within one day. DON'T WORRY! It’s not a test of your abilities but an exercise to see whether the programme we offer this year really fits or not. Try and keep this day free. By October 11th you will get feedback and invitation or not from us via email. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
